Strengthening Nonprofits

Have you experienced the incredible summer jazz performances in Blaine or visited the Northwest Washington Fair? Have you walked on one of the beautiful trails in Whatcom County? Do you and your family enjoy any of the programs offered by our local colleges and the university? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, local nonprofits matter to you. Even your local library benefits from a Friends of the Library organization that raises funds for materials and other resources.

A healthy and vibrant charitable sector is critical to keeping our community strong.  Beyond grant-making, we support local organizations with training, networking opportunities, and specialized endowment fund management.

Meeting Space at the Whatcom Center for Philanthropy – The Whatcom Center for Philanthropy (WCP) is a collaboration between the Chuckanut Health Foundation, United Way of Whatcom County and the Whatcom Community Foundation. These three philanthropies are pursuing new and different ways of working together as well as with our nonprofit partners in order to better serve and support all of our Whatcom County neighbors. Each organization has its own suite of offices as well as shared conference rooms that are available for use by our nonprofit partners free of charge. Our goal is to create an environment where connections are made, ideas are shared and great things can happen.
