COVID-19 Information and Resources for Nonprofits
Washington Nonprofits has put together an excellent resources page on their website: Coronavirus Response Resources for Nonprofits.
Humanities Washington is providing rapid-response funding to humanities organizations facing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus. Funding for this grant is provided by the CARES Act and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Whatcom Nonprofit Network News – WNN e-news blasts will be sent as new information becomes available. Please email us to be added to the list.
Resilience Fund – We have granted out more than $720,000 from our Resilience Fund and are continuing to build up this fund to help Whatcom County recover from this crisis.
Assessing Needs – We are working with local partners to develop a short survey that that will give us essential insights into your current and anticipated needs and concerns. You’re slammed, we get it. And, this will help us and other funders get you the resources you need to do your work during this extraordinary time.
Grant reports – all reporting deadlines through April 30 are extended for 3 months for Community Foundation grantees, hopefully freeing up your time and energy to focus on your mission and any measures necessary to address and/or mitigate for COVID-19.
What about future funding? Given the urgent need for resources related to COVID-19 and the economic crises, we are directing our funding into the communities listed below, all of whom are disproportionately impacted by this crisis:
– Children and families, elders and those with compromised immune systems and/or disabilities
– Residents without health insurance or access to sick days
– Communities of color and residents with limited English language proficiency
– Economically vulnerable people, or those impacted by reduced and lost work
– People at risk of intimate violence
In the next few months we will conduct scenario planning about funding, timing, and focus of future grant rounds.
