Helping Our Neighbors as We Face the COVID-19 Crisis

The Community Foundation Board is putting $100,000 into the Resilience Fund to start helping our neighbors address the affects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Resilience Fund is our community’s bounce-back fund. It’s here to help anyone and everyone —individuals, families, nonprofits, businesses—recover from a crisis or disaster through a combination of emergency preparedness investments and response funding.

The Resilience Fund has already put dollars to work in a tsunami warning system as well as improvements to the Whatcom Unified Emergency Coordination Center (thanks to generous contributions from BP, Phillips66, Shell and others). Now, it’s needed to help address the impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We’re working with local and regional partners to anticipate and monitor local needs – short and long term – as well as identifying other resources so that we can maximize Resilience Fund benefits.
